I discovered this article by Dr. Kwame Osei, a Ghanaian endocrinologist. He had a great deal to say about the pigment (melanin) of black skin, including what I listed in this infographic. I tried to track him down to ask more questions, but he’s no longer in the U.S. If anyone knows him, please ask him to contact me.
