I would be remiss if I didn’t post about one of the most interesting events aimed at connecting blacks in the African Diaspora; it’s Ghana’s, “The Year of Return.” This year-long celebration started in January and is expected to run through December of 2019. Here are a list of the scheduled events sponsored by the Ghana Tourism Agency, www.yearofreturn.com
The event is geared towards attracting the descendants of slaves to visit their original home, the continent of Africa. There’s talk about it all over Youtube, and it’s no secret that when many black folks plan their vacations, few of us consider countries in African as a destination, including myself. But I’m changing that this year. My family and I will be visiting Ghana and attending the festivities happening in December.
Here’s the president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, kicking off “The Year of Return. https://www.visitghana.com/events/year-of-return-ghana-2019/
Hope to see you all there.
